Turn on the Lights with the Broken Switch

Slight hope gives me fear
Of moving forward, fast.
Towers fall apart
Upon my tired feet.
Do I move? Do I get stuck?

Let the world come crashing down.
I’d still wake up to see the ashes
Of a love that burns my heart
Of a love that keeps me going.

Stay close so they won’t hear
My name in your every breath
Your eyes in my every dream
Heart in hand
Soul to soul
But you take one step and let me go.

Let the world come crashing down.
Wake up to see the fire
Of a love that burns inside
Of a truth you made a lie.

Twilight time let me wish again
On a star you never noticed that was there
Throw the stones we did ignite
Put out the fire you left behind…

Why don’t you stay close and be with me
Let the light be gone ’til it’s too dark to see
Stay close, hear me cry
Let me die in your arms one last time
Kill me with words bound by fiction
Make me believe you see me too…

A Limit on Infinity

Ask me not of what I feel
For love that can be explained through words is questionable
If I were to be blind I would sense still
What eyes don’t see, what hearts do tell.

Freeze the water and on it you could trail
You might not see what burns down below
But I’m not asking for a smooth, blithe sail
For even the sea cannot control the waves.

If the eyes tell everything, you should see yourself in mine
You’ll see you are my all; they reflect what’s true
But I am as base as this ruthless world
And all I need is you.
