The sky’s slowly fading
The vast darkness crawls in
Clouds chase the sun away
Birth of the night sky mourning
The light never found your face
The world was fast revolving
Nor did you run over my mind;
You ran over somebody else’s
But that smile, that bewildering smile
Almost the only light in the dark
Enchanting, enam’ring, your innocent face
Leaving me alone, lost in wonder
But at least for one long night, you kept me alive.
You know my name, alright
But that leads us nowhere
Talk to me, you talk about somebody
And all I can do is stare
At least for one long night…
There should’ve been more
I know you know; we could’ve been more
But i’m afraid it’s too late
Now we’re just friends, of a friend.
’Cause you’ll be gone tomorrow
And you’ll be gone forever
This is one of the moments when
I wish tomorrow never comes
But what’s left with me, I’ll keep
An afterthought of you
A smile that kept me longing
A memory I’ll replay forever
At least for one long night I will…
